The movie “ The Never Ending Story”, directed by Wolfgang Petersenn, 1984, is very good; I remember that when I was a child it was one of my favorites. It´s a good history, full of fantasy, whit beautiful places and effects.

I loved this film until I knew the true work of Michael Ende – one of my favorite books. It´s a page turner so wonderful that you have a little fear to read more, because it´s so good that you don´t want to finish.Michael Ende writes with so much passion, there´s a lot of rich parts of philosophy and it´s a great achievement in literature.Everything is so much more beautiful, wonderful, intelligent and magic than the movie that I loved it and after I read the book I hated the movie. It´s so poored, the history and the places, the much more beautiful and important parts were killed – there´s no comparison.

Well, that´s what I recommend: yes, read the endless history of Michael Ende, mainly if you are an adult – it´s an intelligent, original and magic return to fantasy. And the movie, well, you can watch this, it´s beautiful and funny, but it´s not the work of Michael Ende, that is so wonderful. It´s just one more film for children.
