Dreams

Through history, the human kind has tried to find the meaning of dreams. Phylosophers, scientists got the most different theories, each one related with their values, culture and history context.

A lot of theories were trying to prove that dreams and awake life are related with each other. Techniques were created to interpret the dreams’ content and treat some psychological problems. Since then, the analysis of dreams has become a therapeutical instrument to psychoanalysis.

"The dream", Henri Rousseau

By dreams, the unconscious process of mind comes in a very clear way that can be studied. To Freud, dream is the unconscious activities result and starts in the realization (at least the intent of realization) of a repressed desire. So, we can conclude that dreams are a way of knowing a little about unknown human’s brain and how it works.

The firsts registers of dream interpretation were made in the 19th century b.C, in Egypt. People from classic antiquity used to believe that dreams were introduced by something divine that wanted to tell men what to do and how to act. But when men discovered that dreams were not divine revelations, they started to need to be understood. A lot of phylosophers and scientists got different explanations around this issue, but till now, none of them is complete.

In dreams, we live different situations under a different view, without censure, moral models, repressed contents, all these things disappear in our dreams. These situations are not necessarily related with what happened during the day, but are situations that are related with life and how we see the world. So, dreams break the conscious limits, when they let that the same problems be lived in different ways.

The Science and the Phylosophy try to find the importance of dreams, but nothing is absolutely right and definitive. Who knows if someday we will discover this secret that is human brain, so mysterious.

Since the begginning of civilization, men have tried to find an explanation to everything that happens in the world, but life is a box full of surprises, there are theories and theories about anything that you can imagine, but the most important thing is to know how to use these theories to improve our lives, after all, theories lose their function if there is no practice.
